Privacy Policy

We keep this simple. Here’s exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

What We Collect

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect:

  • The information you fill in on the comment form
  • Your IP address and browser type (to help filter spam)

If you have a Gravatar account, your profile picture may appear next to your comment. You can read Gravatar’s privacy policy here.

Cookies

We use cookies in a few situations:

  • Commenting — if you leave a comment and opt in, we save your name, email, and website in a cookie so you don’t have to retype them next time. This lasts one year.
  • Logging in — login cookies last two days. If you tick “Remember Me,” they last two weeks. These are removed when you log out.
  • Browser check — when you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and disappears when you close your browser.
  • Editing articles — if you edit or publish an article, a cookie saves the post ID. It expires after 1 day and contains no personal data.

Embedded content from other websites

Some articles include embedded content from other sites — videos, images, and so on. That content behaves exactly as if you visited those sites directly, and those sites may collect their own data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand how people use our site. No personally identifiable information is shared.

How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments — kept indefinitely so we can recognise returning commenters and approve follow-ups faster.
  • User accounts — if you register, your profile data is stored until you delete it. You can update or remove it at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase it. This does not include data we are legally required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
